Social Work Case Study

Question: Discuss about the Social Work Case Study. Answer: Impression of the Client: Jessica Smith has approached to the community centre with hope of some mediation and guide due to the present turmoil in her family life. From the given referral, she has been assessed as a quite sensible human being and a dignified personality. Besides, she has been a doting mother and presently is worried about her childrens future and safety as her partner Jim fails to carry out the responsibility as a father and family-head. The main issue Jessica has been facing with her partner Jim, who has become alcoholic; also, he has not been contributing financially in the family, as he prefers to spend more on alcohol. At present, the entire pressure of running a family is on Jessica and the absence of her partners emotional and financial support has made her dejected. As Jessica is a self-earning woman and self-possessed too she will only need guidance and before her problem aggravates she may need some mediation of the community centre (Thompson, 2015). Applying Ethical Principles: The first ethical principle that will be under consideration in this case is the clients confidentiality. Since Jessica has a sensitive case and she has trusted the community center in this matter, it is the responsibility of the center not to disclose her identity and details (Practical Ethics Series, 2017). Any advice or opinion will be provided with the permission of the client (Practical Ethics Series, 2017). Working in Partnership: Working in partnership in the context of social work underpins the ideas of empowerment, humanity, trust, equity, independence and respect (McAuliffe, 2014). According to this concept the client is valued, his needs and strengths defined, the barriers of the persons cased are identified, next solutions are developed. Working in partnership facilitates the workload to be equally distributed among the practitioners, organization as well as the users (Glasby Dickinson, 2014). Thus, adequate support is possible to offer to the client and expert professionals are able to work together in their respective expertise. In the very first meeting, working in partnership is certain to help in the case of Jessica because she has been having a serious issue to deal with. To help Jessica in recovering the situation, one psychological counselor along with a marriage counselor can be called in. The psychological counselor would help her recovering from depression and provide her suggestions on how to manage her childrens emotions, who are also going through a tough phase. On the other hand, the marriage counselor would help her to communicate with Jim and make peace with him. Lastly, I would act as her moral support all through the session and as a community member would resource her with better earning ways in the community so that she becomes self-reliant financially. Leadership. Group Analysis

Leadership is the act of guiding people through a certain activity (Werhane, 2011). In the group study, there was a combination of beginners, managers and executives in their professions. The group was made up of four intelligent members with different professional expertise in their working fields.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Leadership. Group Analysis specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More One of the members was a retired military commander, then there was a recently promoted vice president of the company who had worked for ten years, the third member was the youngest in the group and lastly me.   This combination of numerous professional stages gave the group a driving force to handle the presented challenges (Johnson Johnson, 2012). This led to proper management and running of the group because of leadership experience possessed by all group members; the leadership trait included proper delegation of duties and responsibilities.  In reference to the book written by Johnson and Johnson (2012), they argued that professional experience comes with age where elderly persons are deemed to have a higher professional experience as compared to the younger generation. Professionally, age is an indicator of authority, knowledge and experience. This is a simpler method of classifying professional titles and experiences.  The elder group members displayed a higher experience and knowledge in handling group’s conflicts and maintained the smooth flow of the work presented at hand. The combination of the old skills and new skills led to new ways of undertaking activities, which motivated members and as result increase overall performance. The conclusion that with age comes leadership abilities was drawn on the way the elderly group members handled their duties and responsibility assigned to them including offering guidance to junior members of the group (Johnson Johnson, 2012). Group membe rs carried out several interviews as part of the tasks assigned to them by the overall leader. They included collecting data using questionnaires and each group member compiled a report of which the two veterans in the group presented a more professional report as compared to our report. This indicated the importance of having more experienced professionals in a group handling a specific task (Werhane, 2011). Every member in the group acted as a leader even though we had an overall leader who was a retired military commander and me. According to the contingency leadership theories, styles of leadership are determined by several variables like the environment in which the leadership is carried in hence the best type of leadership is selected according to the environment (Werhane, 2011).Advertising Looking for essay on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More This theory discredits a single leadership style of manage ment for all situations. A group’s success or failure depends on the available variables to be considered including style of leadership, nature of the situation, and the follower’s qualities (Johnson Johnson, 2012). The group was a formal group observing and obeying the set authority by the members even though most of the times we used to consult Jake and Julie on the way to approach some matters.  Leadership support offered to me by the veterans helped me up my leadership skills and courage. Groups tend to rely mostly on the members with adverse knowledge concerning matters affecting their management; this makes groups to be formal since they obey the authority vested in each member who is a leader. One of the youngest members created confusion between the retired military commander and I who were the authority holders by competing with us. Although informal authority is difficult to gain, it can easily be taken away. References Johnson, D. W., Johnson, F. P. (201 2). Joining Together: Group Theory and Group Skills. In both states, bulk of the kids are engaged in family activities. In Ghana, farm labor dominant while in Ethiopia, bringing fuel wood, H2O and crowding labour predominant ( Sonia Bhalotra, 2003 ) . From this statement it is clear that people does non cognize, what child labor is? They do non cognize about exact age of the kid labor and they exploit the kids. They do non cognize any international convention. International convention gives the guideline about the minimal age of the kids for making work. This international convention explain the minimal age set out clear guideline to authorities of each states to specify the minimal age at which kids should be allowed to work. International labour organisation has introduced two different major conventions for specifying the minimal age of the kids. These conventions are- ILO Convention No. 138 on minimal age and 2nd one is ILO Convention No. 182 on the worst signifier of child labor ( International Labour Organisation study ) . REASON FOR CHILD LABOUR Child labor is serious job in all over the universe. Almost all the states are suffered with this incidence. Africa has the highest incidence of child labor in the universe. The chief ground is due to economic diminution, war, HIV/AIDS behind the kid labor in Africa. Children do non travel to school and whole twenty-four hours they do work in different topographic points. Majority of kids in Africa are engaged in house based farm and endeavors. But top administration degree is non accepted it ( Sonia Bhalotra, 2003 ) . Another chief ground is described really good that there is no any strong relation has been developed between grownup and kids. So as to adult can learn them for spell to school. Because young person are the most responsible group in society so they can assist to the kids for divergence. Family members claim kids do non travel to school so, in this instance members prefer kids make some work and gain money. So here it is proved that there is no good relation between grownup and kids ( Sonia Bhalotra, 2003 ) . From above discussed all the statements non depict, why do the kids work? There are many grounds behind for child labor. Poverty is the most commonly restraints which leads to do child labor. The kids may work because they think net returns from instruction are low or negligible and the returns to work experience are high. The strength of market and establishment moderate the kid labor. In markets, tonss of plants are available so these reinforce the kids to make work. Market gives inducement to kids so they attract the kids. Generally it s happens that in markets prefer child alternatively of grownup. Because, for little work grownup demand more rewards, but in instance of kid, kid neer demand more money and hence stay in market. On that status market gives some inducement. So this type of market status demand more figure of child labors. Market prefermore figure of child labor because, one historical analyses comes out that kid labors are easy to command and they work with full con centration. Change in engineering besides leads to do addition in demand of child labor. As a assistant market prefer more child labor. Because engineering has reduced the work burden so they do non like grownups labour for more work in this status they demand child labour as a assistant ( Sonia Bhalotra, 2003 ) . Consequence ON CHILD LABOUR Child labor is largely in developing states in Asia, Africa and Latin America. It is broad distributing. This broad spreading incident causes inauspicious consequence on kid. It affects the wellness and their developmental. Due to difficult work they suffer with scrawny growing. Their work is frequently risky and has great hazard with assorted occupational diseases. In some state kids work in pesticide mills and other chemical based mills in this conditions child mortality rate has been increasing ( W. Mark, N. Robert and R. Natalia, 1998 ) . Registration in school and dropout instances increase after child labor. Most informations set describe an reverse correlativity between child labor and instruction. Child maltreatment besides arises from child labor. Because kids go for work in different topographic points in instance of acquiring more end product store or mills proprietor abuse them. Child maltreatment is common in fabric companies, little store, in this state of affairs they are exploited by the mills proprietors. Factories proprietors exploit in sense of more on the job hours and twenty-four hours by paying same rewards ( W. Mark, N. Robert and R. Natalia, 1998 ) . CHILD LABOUR AND PEOPLE VIEW Group of people say child labour non affects the kids instruction instead makes to kids self sustain. Harmonizing to human perceptual experience age of kids is for larning. If kids learn in childhood so it will be better for future. A kid earns money so it is non bad because he can gain money for paying school fee and for pocket sweeps. Many households have no get good support with economic status. In this state of affairs they send to kids for earn. Family members give support for making work because kids are the productive beginning and they can increase the wealth of the house. Most data sets describe an reverse correlativity between instruction and child labor. If we see at micro level so it is unsurprising as these are viing usage of clip for gaining. Children from Ethiopia, kid work in rural Ethiopia may let kids to pay for school fee, and bring forthing a positive relationship with household and others ( Rose and Al-Samarrai, 1997 ) . At a clip kids can make both reading and w ork so it is more economical efficient. In the clip changeless job, engagement in school and work are jointly give more results. In this instance, household and child both acquire benefit. In this state of affairs add excess cost benefit in state s economic system. CHILD LABOUR AND HUMAN RIGHT In some instances people think child labor is non a human right misdemeanor. I think it is illegal and promotes many societal related issues. More market demand of child labour leads to do kid trafficking. In Pakistan, kid trafficking is really serious job, where most of the trafficked Bengali kids are sold. There are about 200,000 adult females and kids in the slave trade. Lawyers for Human Rights and Legal Aid ( LHRLA ) of Pakistan have reported that more than 19,000 kids from the different parts chiefly from Middle East have been trafficked and all kids holding age in between 2 old ages to 11 old ages. Trafficked have been occurred through camel jockeys to the Middle East, a trade that can give cost for their lives. Human are traveling against the human right misdemeanor non merely through the kid trafficking instead they have been making child harlotry. Harmonizing to LHRLA study about 40,000 kids are in harlotry in Pakistan ( ILO-IPEC, IPEC In Action, Pakistan, 1998 ) . Unwanted group of people they call to kids with the aid of other clients. These clients come in contact with those people who are hapless, and holding no resources for income coevals. These clients give good occupation offer to their kids but, they are liar. And therefore these parents became agree to direct ain kids for work. They do non cognize what will be happened. After that these client sell them to other for few money. They do non cognize what humanistic disciplines are? They pick kid from needed household or hapless household, sometime they forcefully pick kids from the family. They forcefully send the kids in to madrassas for preparation as a activist ( ILO-IPEC, IPEC In Action, Pakistan, 1998 ) . They are work against human right. Children are come on Earth for making better development non for development. Many Torahs have been made by different bureau and organisation against child labor. Main maps of the Torahs are to protect kid lives and supply better platform for development. Children s Right International Mission is to advance the meaningful execution of the United Nations Conventions on the Right of the Child ( the Convention ) by conveying together Judgess, attorneies, instructors, professionals, and other protagonism to advance, protect and move on the involvement of kids. The mission of CRI is to supervise and promote the success application of the rule of the Convention and besides to develop and help the individual in kids s right protagonism ( Bill Jackson, Australia, 2008 ) . In favour of kids s right the International Labour Organization ( ILO ) has been introduced Torahs in signifiers of Child Labour Convention No. 182 ( C182 ) and ( R190 ) , address the right issues whether new attacks to protecting the kids s right and fulfilment of their demand ( Bill Jackson, Austr alia, 2008 ) . Child trafficking is a end point of child labors so authorities which have non yet use scheme so for commanding trafficking should use UN protocol to prevents and should make full spread between authorities policy and pattern ( Mike Dottridge, 2004 ) . CHILD LABOUR AND DEVELOPMENT To do universe free from child labor so foremost we have to alter our head set up. We know all the things but wittingly we have done. We will hold to alter our perceptual experience. Children are guiltless and do non cognize about huge universe. We should give regard to kids s right and labour rights. Labour rights to happen in supply concatenation. Many big companies of the universe like Reebok International Ltd. , Levi Strauss, IKEA say no child labor . ( A. Balaguer, UNICEF ) . These companies do non work with concern spouses that use child labor. These companies are profit doing but they no societal norms and duties. On the other manus other companies do non give regard to kids s right and labor rights and they start development of the labor particularly child labor. these companies ever arrange run intoing on homo right criterions and ever making scrutinizing and monitoring to forestall child labor.

Romanticism was a cultural movement that was based upon reactions to Essay

Romanticism was a cultural movement that was based upon reactions to the onset of the new Industrial Age. Explain the growth of romanticism, its basic ideas, a - Essay Example In order to be able to truly understand how and why all of this took place, we need to first understand a bit more about romanticism itself and what it is all about, as well as all of the key and related issues in regards to how it changed and how it was grown. By doing this, we will not only be able to better understand the term romanticism, but as well we will be able to understand the reasons why and how it has grown and altered. This is what will be dissertated in the following. Romanticism is considered as being "A movement in art and literature in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in revolt against the Neoclassicism of the previous centuriesThe German poet Friedrich Schlegel, who is given credit for first using the term romantic to describe literature, defined it as 'literature depicting emotional matter in an imaginative form'Any list of particular characteristics of the literature of romanticism includes subjectivity and an emphasis on individualism; spontaneity; freedom from rules; solitary life rather than life in society; the beliefs that imagination is superior to reason and devotion to beauty; love and worship of nature; and fascination with the past, especially the myths and mysticism of the middle ages".1 There are many different

Public Opinion and Responding to Crisis Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words - 1

Public Opinion and Responding to Crisis - Essay Example Rather, it takes the collective effects of all stakeholders and departments of the school management process to successfully undertake the roles of the school as a system of institutional transformation. In his work, Kowalski creates the awareness to the fact there are three major identified departments or stakeholders in the school management system and that the individual roles played by each of these departments needs to be harnessed and coordinated in such a way that they each become dependant on the other for the common goal of transforming lives through the school. These stakeholders are the staff, parents and students. In the case of the suicide at McKinley Middle School, there could be a thorough discussion of how the roles of each of these stakeholders could best be played from the perspective of public opinion and response to crisis to salvage future occurrences or better still to have prevented the happening totally. Problem identification mechanism in schools From the cas e, there is a clear indication of a major deficiency in the school management system that has to do with problem identification mechanisms. ... Clearly, suicide is a psychological problem that is most likely to be reflective in the life of a student or a person who has very little psychological attention. If all stakeholders in the schools management process as identified earlier could play their collective roles well to come to terms with some of the basic problems that students face in their academic life therefore, there is every indication that other major problems that could lead to worse forms of reaction to problems such as suicides would be catered for. Crisis Response Deficiencies More to the fact that schools do not put in much effort to identifying and mitigating crisis in students and for that matter crisis in schools, there also exists a serious challenge that has to do with the fact that schools do not respond to crisis quick enough even after the crisis have started. For instance there are a number of bureaucratic formalities that schools expect parents to go through to get crisis handled or responded to. This happens because schools fail to acknowledge and appreciate the fact that parents are part of the schools management system and that they should be in a position to have full access to the school especially in times of crisis response (Kowalski, 2010, p. 221). In the case of the suicide, there are several crisis response deficiencies that were noticed. Without an iota of doubt, if there had been a clear-cut policy in the McKinley Middle School regarding how crisis of all manners ought to be responded to, there remains a whole lot that could have been done to salvage the situation. Because of the absence of such crisis response policy, crisis always arises before solutions are sought. The way forward To conclude, it is important to reflect

Against Smoking Essay Example for Free

Against Smoking Essay â€Å"Life is too short† and â€Å" you only live once† are phrases you always hear from your parents, grandparents and other people whenever they come up with those boring ‘in my day’ stories, aren’t they? So why waste the one life you get, and shorten the already too short with the expensive, pointless and revolting habit of smoking? Smoking is the habit that I consider to be pointless, a waste of money and dangerous to your health and social life. Smoking really is the one thing I loathe and with it causing a staggering 110,000 unnecessary premature deaths a year I strongly believe it should be banished to room 101 eternally. It’s not that bigger deal is what you might be thinking now but wait until you hear the stomach churning, blood-curdling and spine chilling effects smoking has on you and everyone around you, they are what some call ‘Hair-raisers’. ?1. billion is what our nation’s worst habit is costing the NHS every year, with 50 diseases and illnesses linked to smoking, 20 of which can be fatal in percentage of cases. When you and your family have to pay the extortionate amount of tax, this is surely not what you wanted a percentage of it to be going towards. You’re hard earned pay going towards people feeding their deathly addiction with what is an expensive death wish in the form of a stick of cancer and fatal diseases. ?1,700 is what an average smoker spends on cigarettes each year. Every cigarette lasts just two minutes and takes 11 minute off of your life, whilst imagine having ? 1,700 to go on a shopping spree with. It could last you years of fashionable outfits whilst smoking could cost you years of agonizing symptoms from the illnesses you could end up being faced with, besides surely the ‘smoking kills’ and ‘smoking is harmful to health’ messages on the back of many cigarette and tobacco packets reminds smokers of the consequences of smoking and it would surely put people off smoking, but no they just carry on. Too add to this the addictive drug in a cigarette is also used as an insecticide, so if it is used to kill insects then just visualize what it might do to your lungs, not nice is it? Smoking doesn’t just affect you it affects the people around you as well. 17,000 children under the age of five are admitted to hospital with illnesses such as pneumonia, asthma, bronchitis and infections such as ear, throat and chest infections. Innocent children having to pay the price for inconsiderate people who selfishly smoke around them. It really is not fair. Additionally children who grow up in families of smokers have 50% more chance of being tobacco users when they are older than children brought up in a smoke free environment. Many times my friends and I have had to choose between suffocating in cigarette smoke and holding our breathes for, well too long whilst our eyes water from the smoke, smudging all our make-up just before meeting up with some friends in town as we have to walk by a ginormous group of selfish youths smoking because they think it makes them look cool. It doesn’t for the record and it also smells really, really bad. Who would want to be friends with someone whose hair, clothes and house smells like stale tobacco smoke? Not me, that’s for sure. Why on earth do people think their cool if they smoke IN joke shops they even sell fake cigarettes that look lit, just so people can pretend they’re smoking. But really it does not look cool and 40% of 16 year olds feel pressured into smoking by their friends and peers. Why should young people have to worry about being asked to have a smoke next time they go out with their friends when really they should be concentrating on school and GCSE’s? Similarly 60% of all smokers started smoking under the age of 17. These and too many other reasons to say, make me believe that smoking should be banished to the very depths of room 101 for the rest of eternity and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who thinks this.

Crime and Punishment Essay :: essays research papers

Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  By the end of Dostoyesky’s Crime and Punishment, the reader is no longer under the illusion of the possible existence of â€Å"extraordinary† men. For an open-minded reader, and even perhaps the closed-minded ones too, the book is a journey through Raskolnikov’s proposed theory on crime. It is a theory based on the ideas that had â€Å"been printed and read a thousand times†(313) by both Hegel and Nietzsche. Hegel, a German philosopher, influenced Dostoyesky with his utilitarian emphasis on the ends rather than the means whereby a superman existed as one that stood above the ordinary man, but worked for the benefit of all mankind. Nietsche’s more selfish philosophy focused on the rights to power which allowed one to act in a Hegelian manner. In committing his crime, Raskolnikov experienced the ultimate punishment as he realized that his existence was not that of the â€Å"extraordinary† man presented in his theory. In cha pter five of part three in Crime and Punishment, this theory is outlined by its creator, Raskolnikov. Such an innovative theory would clearly have placed him in the â€Å"extraordinary† category, but when he fails to meet its standards, by submitting to the common law through his confession, the theory crumbles right before the reader’s eyes.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The majority of Raskolnikov’s theory seems logical until the reader arrives at its single essential flaw. Raskolnikov’s idea that â€Å"the enactment of a crime is invariably accompanied by illness†(311) was one aspect of the theory which, through its accuracy in Raskolnikov’s crime, seemed to lend validity to the entirety of the theory; several brief experiences with â€Å"faintness† on the character Raskolnikov’s behalf, insinuate the veracity of his ideas.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  After inferring from the rationality of Raskolnikov’s hypothesis on illness that the rest of his working theory would too be correct, the reader is led down a path of definite expectations for his/her â€Å"extraordinary† narrator. This path would have been one whereby Raskolnikov was able to implement widespread well being as a result of his murders. Furthermore, he would have been able to avoid submission to the common law of the â€Å"ordinary† people in order to preserve his greatness.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  This is not, in fact, what happens though. Rather, Raskolnikov is forced to confess by several factors including the very fear of being discovered. This fear is emphasized to illustrate his displacement from the â€Å"extraordinary† man; an â€Å"extraordinary† man would not have possessed such fears since he would know that he had a right to execute such actions .

Analysis Of A Stakeholder Essay

The Stakeholder in which I decided to research and write about is the AMA or to some it may be known as the American Medical Association. This association’s mission is to better public health and promote the art and science of medicine. The AMA was founded in 1847 by a man by the name of Nathan Smith Davis. The group has since invested in the doctor and patient relationship and has promoted scientific advancement as well as improved public health. Mr. Davis was the first editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association back in 1883 until 1888. The first code of medical ethics was adopted by the AMA delegates and they were the ones to establish the first nationwide standards for preliminary medical education as well as the degree of MD’s. This association has become the largest in American history. The AMA continues to serve as an advocate for the profession, physicians, and patients. The AMA focus on three core areas within health care: (1) Improving the outcome of health care, (2) Changing medical education, (3) and by making sure payment models are delivered efficiently as well as enhancing physician satisfaction. Members of the AMA say they plan on setting goals in order to reach these things. (www.ama-assn.org) By doing so they plan to initiate, identify share, and develop patient-physician decision making. Also when it comes to bettering the system the AMA states that they will: (1) Increase productivity, save lives and money, and improve outcomes and health by developing and practicing it’s delivery, (2) Diversify physician services so that it may reflect the levels as well as its service risk by adopting a good payment policy, (3) and allow physicians to select the models that fits the mode of their practices.(www.ama-assn.org) After reading and knowing what the AMA stood for and the mission in which they are striving to accomplish made me better understand how they connect with the health care field. Now since we all have a better understanding about the AMA I can focus on the Health Care Reform Act and describe the AMA’s position on it. Here are a few things in which the Health Care Reform Act states. Thirty-two million uninsured Americans will be extended medical coverage. In the year of 2014 small business will be allowed to purchase coverage through a separate exchange. If a child has a preexisting medical condition they will not be denied health insurance coverage. Also in the year of 2014 no health insurance company will be able to deny health coverage to anyone. Parents will be able to carry their children on their health insurance policy until the age of twenty-six. Even if illegal immigrants want/need health insurance coverage and they are willing to purchase it with their own money they will not be allowed to do so with any exchange. In 2009 expansion of insurance coverage was the most contentious issue and the AMA was the most visible organization that represented physicians and their views on this issue. The AMA opposed Medicare expansion and proposed coverage of the uninsured primarily through private means. Many AMA members were in disagreement about this but it seems as if the older physicians supported the AMA’s decision but the younger ones disagreed. Many physicians supported the proposals for health insurance expansion in which the AMA opposed. Even though the AMA is considered the most visible organization that represent physicians, it’s views did not represent the majority of the physicians views on coverage expansion in the most recent reform efforts. The AMA felt as if the reform act did introduce and promise some priority goals which were: (1) extend coverage to uninsured, (2) investing in physician’s workforce, (3) proving long term relief from Medicare flawed physician payment formula, (4) focusing as well as increasing the nation’s preventive care and wellness initiatives, (5) and simplifying administrative burdens for patient and physicians. The AMA states that they will continue to work with Congress as well as Administration pushing for the best outcome for physicians as well as patients. (www.ama-assn.org) They also will continue to eliminate the IPAB (Independent Payment Advisory Board), replace the SGR (Sustainable Growth Rate), and Enact the MLR (Medical Liability Reform). With this being said overall it will take time but the AMA states that it will continue to stand strong and firm about its mission as well as its goals in which they are try to reach for its physicians and the patients.(www.acep.org) Even though the disagreed about certain proposals they will continue to fight. The Current State Of Health Essay - 1517 Words

From Brian’s check up with the GP, we are able to make a few inferences regarding his current state of health. Brian is a 58 year old man, working as an accounts manager, who has reported being breathless after climbing 1 flight of stairs. His family history shows a trend of premature death from cardiac arrest in his Uncle and father. He is 1.68m tall and maintains a stable weight of 96kg, from which we can calculate his BMI to be 34kg/m2. Despite being a non-smoker, the patient described his exercise level as low. This paired with his low activity job makes leads us to assume his PAL is low. The GP ran common health check tests to help them conjecture towards the nature of his problem. The patients’ blood pressure was 164/92. He had a fasting blood glucose of 8.3mmol/l and a UDL cholesterol level of 0.87mmol/l. Exercise has been clinically proven to improve various physiological systems, such as the Cardiovascular, skeletal muscle and metabolic (Kenney and Larry, 2015 and Gillen and Gibala, 2013). As little as moderate exercise has been said to reduce the risk of developing disorders and diseases such as Heart disease and even colon and breast cancer (Slattery, 2004).
